Grade 6 English Honors Course Overview

This course prepares sixth grade students for advanced language arts studies. It is divided into four focus areas: persuasive speaking, creative writing, research-based expository writing, and literary interpretation. Each focus area fosters a learning opportunity where students apply and improve their reading, writing, and public speaking skills through our effective set of reading materials and advanced writing assignments.

Our Course Goals

Our Language Arts course prepares students to become effective writers and future leaders by promoting creative ideas and communication skills. Students work on writing assignments as challenges in interpretation and communication, such as how to express ideas clearly or understand complex messages. Through written assignments and oral presentations, students master the skills taught in class, gaining the confidence and literacy needed to excel in college, careers, and everyday life.
